Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) represents a group of idiopathic, chronic, and inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases. The two main categories of this disease are Idiopathic Chronic Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn's Disease (CD).

IBD is a treatable condition, however incurable; the inflammatory component that characterizes this group of diseases leads to the development of structural and functional damage to the gastrointestinal system.
